RYAN
Ryan is a husband and brother, a father of five, an entrepreneur, and a pioneer of Adventure! Ryan went from corporate America, where he was responsible for strategy, recruitment, and workforce planning to owning a trail running events company, adventure tourism business, and California Adventure Academy (homeschool learning center and adventure programs). As the Founder/CEO of Practically Equipped, he has experienced firsthand the successes and failures of what it means to thrive in life. He seeks to align potential and purpose, grounded in experiences. When not working, you can find Ryan with his family and in the mountains—biking, rafting, running, hunting—living.
NICAYLEN
EVAN
Evan was born and raised in Montana where he spent much of his childhood adventuring outdoors. He has a passion for the upcoming generation and the importance of education that goes beyond school walls. Evan has a history of teaching children’s theater and organizing after-school programs. He spent the last year as an outdoor education guide. Outside of teaching, Evan loves writing, mountain biking, and family lake vacations.
TYLER
Tyler is an avid outdoorsman and educator. He has taught middle school core subjects, as well as outdoor education. Tyler earned certifications in Emergency Medical Response and began firefighting, but realized his deeper passion was for teaching kids. Tyler loves seeing students be curious about their surroundings, and connect the dots between traditional subjects and the natural world. Tyler enjoys backpacking, playing the drums, and spending time with friends in his free time.

WILDERNESS SURVIVAL
2-Hour Sessions • Ages 9-14
Wilderness Survival is not just about learning to survive in the outdoors—it’s also about being adaptable and confident in situations you can’t control. The skills kids learn in this topic are both fun and functional. Units Include: Fire & Water, Knots & Lashings, Shelter, and Trapping & Foraging.
